Torah Academy of Bergen County (TABC), a Modern Orthodox yeshiva high school for boys, is seeking faculty members for the 2024-2025 academic year.
High School English/History Teacher
TABC seeks a teacher who is skilled at teaching both English and History.
- Teaching responsibilities will include two English classes and one 9th-grade World History class.
- Master's in teaching or a related field preferred.
- Proven success in teaching writing and literature at the high school level.
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to reaching students of all levels and learning styles.
- Ability to differentiate the curriculum to accommodate students with IEPs and 504 plans.
- Familiarity with backward design in lesson planning.
- Exhibit exceptional classroom management skills.
High School Science Teacher (P/T & F/T available)
- Positions are available to teach high school biology, chemistry, forensics, AP Biology, and a biomedical elective.
- Ideal candidates should be able to teach at least two different subject areas, work with multiple student levels, and incorporate labs and real-world applications.
- Teaching experience and related Master’s degree preferred.
High School Inclusion Teacher for Ninth Grade (F/T)
- Dynamic teacher needed for a cohort of 4-5 freshman boys for a pilot inclusion program.
- Candidate should be flexible in pedagogical approaches in order to differentiate materials for inclusion students, and be able to implement best practices in teaching.
- He/she should have excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate and collaborate with students, classroom teachers, and parents.
- The position includes daily push-in to General and Judaic Studies classes, as well as additional pull-out periods each week for skill development and instructional support.
- The inclusion teacher will also set benchmark goals and monitor progress, updating as necessary, in conjunction with parents and the Director of Student Services.
- Degree in special education or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience with students with learning challenges is required.
