   Community Outreach Manager, Mark Ramer Chesed Center 

The Marion & Aaron Gural JCC, a non-profit, non-sectarian community agency located in the greater Five Towns is looking to expand its team with a part-time Chesed Center Manager. 

The Marion & Aaron Gural JCC’s Mark Ramer Chesed Center is a 3500 square foot warehouse of new clothing and household items to assist individuals and families in need and to connect them with services offered by the Gural JCC and with other community resources. 

This role is up to 20 hours a week in- office located in Hewlett. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct intakes for all new clients 
• Develop relationships with current clients
• Outreach to local community organizations, synagogues and schools to inform them about available services at the Mark Ramer Chesed Center.
• Solicit local stores, big box stores and manufacturers for donations of goods
• Refer clients to Gural JCC social work team as needed
• Organize holiday and distribution events
• Supervision of the volunteer coordinator and warehouse maintenance worker 
•  Work with local community organizations, synagogues and schools to recruit volunteers to help stock and organize the warehouse. 
• Ensure that all donations are logged in, accurate records are being maintained  and compliance standards are being met. 

Knowledge and skills:

• Compassion and patience for working with individuals in need
• Experience managing staff 
• Must be very familiar with Jewish customs and observance
• Ability to monitor inventory and display seasonal items
• Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multitask.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software ·
• Excellent writing skills and verbal communication
